CEWIGO in November 2011 commissioned a baseline survey on leadership practices of local level women leaders and identifying training needs of LC3 women local councilors in the Lango sub-region. The survey was conducted in Dokolo and Kole districts. The target group was local level women leaders at the sub-county level including those in politics, in the public service, religious leaders, leaders’ of women’s CBOs and women teachers. Mixed groups of men and women participated in focus group discussions.
A draft report is in place and CEWIGO will hold a half-day workshop in Lira district on 14th February 2012 to validate these findings. Participants will include local government officials, respondents during the baseline survey and local leaders from Dokolo, Kole, Lira and Otuke districts. Participants will respond to the presentation of the draft report findings and give relevant comments to inform the refinement of the report.
